Document Scanner for Android
What is the document scanner in Offline Scan & Photo Toolkit?
The document scanner turns paper documents into clean, readable PDFs: automatic corner detection with manual adjustment, perspective correction, enhancement profiles including grayscale, and PDF export — all processed on your Android device.
What it is
The document scanner turns your phone's camera into a portable scanner for paper — receipts, forms, letters, contracts, notes, and anything else you need as a clean digital copy. Corner detection, perspective correction, and enhancement all run on the device, and the finished result exports as a PDF.
No account is required, and the documents you scan aren't uploaded for cloud processing.
Camera to export, in four steps
One scan moves through four screens — each step is processed on your device.
1. Camera — corner detection outlines the document as you hold the phone steady.
2. Crop — drag each corner to fine-tune the outline before correction.
3. Enhance — pick an enhancement profile and check the result before export.
4. Export — the scan becomes a PDF you can view, share, or use in the PDF tools.
How to scan a document
- Open the scanner and point the camera at the document.
- Let corner detection find the edges, then adjust any corner manually if you want a tighter crop.
- Choose an enhancement profile — Original, Document, High Contrast, and more — or convert to grayscale.
- Preview the result and export it as a PDF.
Paper to PDF
Every scan becomes a PDF. When you export, you choose the page size, fit, margins, and quality — then the PDF is saved to your device, ready to be shared through the apps you already use.
Perspective correction
Photographing a page at an angle makes lines slant and text harder to read. Perspective correction flattens the captured page so it looks as if it was scanned face-on — computed on the device, no upload needed.
Enhancement
After cropping, pick the look that fits the document: Original, Document, High Contrast, and more. Text-heavy pages can also be converted to grayscale for a cleaner printout.
Offline scanning
Capture, corner detection, enhancement, and PDF export work without a connection — processing happens on the device. A connection is only needed for ads in the free tier and for premium purchases through Google Play Billing.
Privacy benefits
Documents you scan aren't uploaded for cloud processing, and there's no account to create. Files stay in the app's local storage — with a browsable history and a 30-day recycle bin — until you choose to export or share them yourself. Read how the app handles your documents.
Export
Export each scan as a PDF and check it in the built-in viewer before you send it. Sharing is up to you — the app saves the file and you share it through the apps you choose.
Need to combine or reorder PDFs?
The PDF tools create PDFs from scans, gallery images, and passport photos — and can merge, split, or reorder pages (premium). See the PDF tools.
Frequently asked questions
How does document scanning work?
Point the camera at a document and the app detects its corners automatically. You can adjust the corners manually, correct perspective, apply enhancement profiles (Original, Document, High Contrast, and more) or grayscale, then export the result as a PDF.
Can I adjust the scan corners myself?
Yes. Automatic corner detection runs on-device, and you can fine-tune each corner manually before perspective correction is applied.
How do I create a PDF from photos or scans?
Pick images from your gallery, scans, or passport photos, choose page size, fit, margin, and quality options, and export. A built-in viewer lets you check the result.
Where are my scans and photos stored?
In the app's local storage on your device, with a browsable history you can search, filter, and mark as favorites. Deleted items go to a trash with a 30-day recycle bin, where they can be restored or deleted permanently.
